Terms of Use

The scope and conditions of using the free MetaErase photo metadata cleaner.

Last updated: 2026-11-07

Using the service

MetaErase provides a browser-based tool for inspecting and removing supported image metadata. You are responsible for having permission to process the files you select and for how you use the resulting copies.

What the tool provides

The supported formats and limits are shown in the tool. Detection reports describe supported containers and readable fields. Cleaning preserves image data and selected rendering information. Keep an original copy and check the output before relying on it.

Attribution and platform rules

Metadata can include copyright, attribution, editing history and content credentials. Consider whether you need to retain this information. Follow applicable platform disclosure rules and respect the rights of others. Cleaning cannot guarantee that a platform will remove or omit an AI label.

Availability and responsibility

The service is offered free of charge as available. Browser capabilities, malformed files and changes in image formats can affect results. Features and limits may change. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided without guarantees of uninterrupted availability or suitability for a particular purpose. Nothing here excludes rights or responsibilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Privacy and contact

See the Privacy Policy for information about data handling. For questions or errors, email support@metaerase.com.
